June 10, 2011 -- Fallen Tree and Perfect Y

This tree fell across a path in the forest preserve near me. I was surprised at how perfectly the "Y" of the main branches fell perfectly against the large upright one that was still standing. I've been watching the tree that fell for a couple of years. It has clearly been dead for at least 4 years. It's time came suddenly, I think.
