I have been thinking a lot about our country and our silos. What I wanted in this photo, taken as I was driving Interstate 88 West toward Iowa (don't tell the State Police), was to depict one element of rural America and also how we all have our silos. In planning the photo, which I have envisioned many time as I have driven this route, was the silos, the cars across the road, car in the mirror to show our separation, our distance from the earth that we grew out of, how we drive so often without seeing. Just zipping by the silos and wondering how we got where we are.
